川平湾に着くと雨は更に激しくなった。
上の写真はその時のもの。

The rain got even harder when we arrived at Kabira Bay.
The photo above is the one I took there.

その後、米原ビーチに向かう。
まだ雨が少し降っていたのですが泳ぐことに。
このビーチでは魚や珊瑚に会えるとガイドブックにあった。

Afterwards, we headed for Yonebara beach.

It was still raining a bit, but we decided to swim.
The guide book says we can see fish and corals there.

ほら、空がこんなに重そうで暗い〜！
See, the sky was so heavy and dark!



そして悲しい出来事が・・・。
And a sad thing happened...

旅行の一週間前にトイデジと呼ばれるカメラを買った。
なぜかって、防水パック付きで一万円くらいだったから。

A week before the trip, I bought a digital camera
which is called "Toy-digi" because it came with the
water-proof case and the price was around 10000.

水中写真を撮ろうとそのカメラ片手に海へ。
数分後、カメラを見るとなんと！
水がケースに入ってる！！！
なんてこと！！！

I carried that camera into the sea to take photo
in the water,,,and a few minutes later, when I looked at it...
I saw the water in the case!
Ohhhhhhhh my god!!!

すぐに海から出てカメラをケースから出す・・・
何とか、動いてる。
でも、これから動かなくなるかも・・・。
とりあえずバッグにいれた。

I quickly got out of the sea
and took the camera out of the case...
It seemed working, but it might go wrong...
I just put it in the bag.


御神崎というところが夕日スポットらしい。
でもちょっと着くのが早かった。
曇っていたし、車の返却時間があるので
沈む前に退散。

Oganzaki is the good spot for viewing the sunset.
Though, we arrived a bit early.
Since it was cloudy and we had to return the car,
We left there without seeing the sunset.

カメラは生きてました。ほっ＊＊
さあ、明日は波照間！
問題はフェリーの席が取れるかどうか・・・。

The camera worked properly. I was relieved.
Tomorrow, we'll be in Hateruma island!
The serious problem was...
whether we could get the ferry ticket or not.

沖縄、石垣島に夏休みに行ってきました。
４日間の滞在です。

We've been to Okinawa, Ishigaki island for a holiday.
We stayed there for 4 days.

今回の三つの願い
１．マンタに会うこと
２．波照間島に行くこと
３．黒島に行くこと

Our three wishes:
1．to meet the manta ray.
2．to go to Hateruma island.
3．to go to Kuroshima island.

この旅行は３週間前にネットで予約。
飛行機取るのには遅すぎると思いきや
少しだけ席が残っていた。

I booked this trip on the internet three weeks before.
I thought it was too late to book the airplane,
but there were just a few seats left at that time.

初日、朝４時起床。
そして神戸空港に向かう。
前回渋滞に巻き込まれたから
急がなくては。

On the first day, we got up at 4:00.
We packed our stuffs and headed for Kobe airport.
We caught in a traffic jam last time, so we'd better hurry.


しかし、その心配はいらなかった。
８時前に空港に着き、出発は１０時半。
かなり時間をつぶさねば。
喫茶店で読書、カメラで遊ぶ。

However, there was no need to worry.
We got to the airport before 8, and our plane was 10:30.
Quite long time to kill.
We read books and played with camera.


那覇空港で乗り換えて石垣空港に
２時半に着く。
残念ながら、石垣では雨。
レンタカーで川平湾と米原ビーチを目指すことに。
大丈夫、ツイてるから雨はあがるよって言いながら☆

We changed airplanes at Naha airport and
arrived at Ishigaki airport at 2:30.

Unfortunately, it rained a bit.
We rented a car and headed for Kabira Bay and Yonebara Beach.
We kept saying,
"It'll be okay, we've been lucky. The rain gonna stop soon!"

今朝は４時頃に目が覚めて、それからなんだか眠れなかった。
５時くらいになって、寝るのをあきらめてリビングに行った。
カーテンを開けると、朝日が今にも昇ってきそうな感じだった。

I woke up around four this morning, and couldn't sleep
after that.
I gave up sleeping around five, and went into the living room.
When I opened the curtain, I noticed that the sun was
about to rise.

朝日を見よう！と思い立ち、すぐに家を出て
自転車で川沿いに。

最近の空、すごく綺麗だな〜と思って眺めてしまう。
空を見るのはすごく好き。
いつ見ても、違う表情をしているから。

I decided to go out to see the sunrise, so I left
home quickly and rode my bicycle to the riverside.

These days, the sky looks so beautiful, I think.
I really love to see the sky.
Everytime I see the sky, it looks different.

川沿いの道には、すでに散歩している人、ジョギングしている人、
犬の散歩をしている人がいた。
朝日を眺めながら川沿いを散歩するのは気持ちがいい＾＾

There were already some people along the river
walking, jogging, and taking their dogs for a walk.
How refreshing it was to walk along the river
seeing the sunrise!

毎朝散歩できたらいいのだろうけど
今のところそこまで時間が避けず・・・。
たまにはしていこうっと♪

It'll be nice if I can take a morning walk everyday,
but for the moment, I can't afford much time to do so...
Once in a while, maybe.

キャンプファイヤー場にて☆at the site of camp fire


２日間、学園の生徒たちとキャンプに行ってきました！
今年は１年生から６年生まで、８８名が参加しました。

I went camping for 2 days with the student of our school.
This year, 88 students, from 1st grade to 6th grade
joined the camping.

毎年夏にこのキャンプをしています。
予想通り、ものすご〜〜〜〜〜〜く、暑かったです＾＾；

Every year we hold camping in summer.
As I expected, it was soooooooo hot these 2 days!!

キャンプといえど、テントに泊まるのではなく
宿泊棟に泊まります。
アスレチック、おもしろ自転車、カレーライス作り、ナイトハイク、
キャンプファイヤー、ポイントハイキング、プラ版のキーホルダー作り
をします。

We say camping, but in fact, we stay at accommodation, not in tents.
We do athletics, ride on unique bicycles,
make curry and rice, go night hiking, enjoy camp fire,
go Point Hiking, and make plastic keyholders.

特徴としては、なるべく先生は手を出さずに、いろんな学年の
混ざった班の中でお互いに協力し合って活動してもらいます。

What's unique about our camping is,
we let the students do by themselves
in the group of different ages, cooperating each other.
We teachers try to say as little as possible.


約半数の生徒が１年生もしくは２年生なので、かなり
手がかかります。
先生と班長、副班長にとってはかなり大変でハードな２日間。
（勿論低学年の子達も精一杯がんばってます！！）

About a half of the students were 1st or 2nd grade,
so we have to care a lot about them.
It was extremely tough and hard days for teachers
and also to team leaders, and sub team leaders.

４班、男子８人のグループの担当でした。
とってもとってもいい班でした＾＾　
みんながそれぞれ自分の力を出し切ってくれました。

I was in charge of the team 4, consists of 8 boys.
My team was quite nice. All the members tried their best.

カレーライスを作る時に、かまどをうまく作りすぎて
（単に高くしすぎただけ？）
焦げた味のカレーとなり、さらにまちがえて
きゅうりのスライスまで入れてしまいました。

We made so big fire when we were making curry and rice,
so our curry had burnt taste and what is more,
we put some cucumber slices by mistake!

ちょっと食べるには苦すぎました＾＾；
ごはんと福神漬けだけ食べた子も・・・。
ごはんは最高の出来だったんです。
今回のキャンプのいい思い出のうちの
一つです〜(笑）＾＾

Our curry was a bit too bitter to eat,
some ate rice only with Fukushinduke.
Rice was cooked better than ever!
Haha, it one of my best memory in this camping:)

あいさつは人の気持ちを変える。

Greetings can change one's feeling.

先日、神社に参拝した時に、
入り口付近であった方が
「暑い中ようきんしゃったなあ〜！」
と笑顔で声をかけてくださった。
その笑顔と元気な声で私たちも自然と笑顔になった。
その神社にはとてもいい印象を持った。

The other day we went to the shrine and
the man whom we met near the entrance said to us

"Wow, you've climbed up in this hot weather!"

His smile and cheerful voice made us smile.
And I got really nice feeling toward that shrine.


この前の日曜日、ヘッドライトとエンジンオイルの交換と、
最近うまく作動しなかったりするウィンカーの
チェックに行った。

Last Sunday, I went to the car shop
to change the headlight and engine oil, and also
to check the winker which doesn't work properly these days.


引越ししてからちょっと遠くなったので
そのショップにはしばらく行っていなかった。
一月ほど前に担当の方が代わると留守番電話の
メッセージに入っていた。

Actually, I hadn't visited that shop for a long time
because it's got a bit far since we moved.
About a month ago, I got a message on my answering phone
telling the change of the adviser.

一枚残っていたエンジンオイルの無料券を使いたかったので
久しぶりに行ってみたら新しい担当者の方に会うことができた。

I wanted to use the last free ticket of engine oil, so
I visited there after a long absense, and met a new adviser.

とてもいい方だった。
彼の挨拶や態度はすごく好感が持てた。
他のスタッフの方も感じがよかった。
またこの店には行くと思う。

He was quite nice.
His greeting and his attitude were so amiable.
And other stuffs too, were very nice to us.
Yes, I think I'll visit the shop again.

あいさつは大切。
これが第一印象にもなるし。
とてもシンプルなことだけど、人の気持ちを
変えることができる。

Greeting is very important.
It'll be the first impression.
It's quite simple, but it can change
the feelings of others.


元気に笑顔で挨拶＾＾
お互いに気持ちもよくなるし
人間関係だって、より円滑にいきますよね＊＊

Give someone a cheerful greeting with your smile!
That can make us feel good each other
and help our human relationship go
more smoothly.

63年前の今日、1945年8月6日。
広島に原子爆弾“Little Boy”が落とされました。
8月9日には長崎に“Fat Boy”が。

63 years ago today, on August 6 1945,
Hiroshima was hit by atomic bomb "Little Boy".
And Nagasaki bomb "Fat Boy" followed on August 9.

これらの原爆は1945年の終わりまでに
広島で140000人、長崎で80000人の死者を出し

さらにそれ以後も数千人もの人々が原爆の放射能にさらされた
ことによる怪我や病気で亡くなりました。

The bombs killed as many as 140000 people in Hiroshima
and 80000 in Nagasaki by the end of 1945.

Thousands more have died from injuries or illness
attributed to explosure to radiation by bombs.

この事実、忘れちゃいけない。
戦争を経験したことはない。でも
若い人たちに戦争の恐ろしさや無意味さを
伝えていくことって、ものすごく大事だと思う。

We must not forget this fact.
Though I didn't experience the war, I think
it's very important to tell younger generation
how terrible and meaningless the war is.

実のところ、ちょっと落ち込んでいます☆
前に飲んでいた薬、効いてなかったようで。

To tell the truth, I've been a bit depressed...
The medicine which I had taken didn't work properly.

なのでまた一からやり直しです（＞＜）
先生は、糖尿病治療の薬を飲んでみたらいいかもと
アドバイスされました。

私は糖尿病ではありませんがこの薬を併用して
他の国でもいい結果がたくさん出ているとのこと。


So I have to restart the treatment.
The doctor advised me to combine one more medicine
which targets diabetes.
Actually, I'm nondiabetic,
but many good results have been reported
in other countries too.


その薬についてネットでも調べてみました。
確かに併用して効いている人もいるみたい。
そして、なんと、ダイエット効果まであるかも？！
とのこと。
痩せられる？！・・・っていいかも。

I checked the medicine on the internet,
and found out that it worked well on some people.
And I also found out the fact that people who take
this medicine may lose weight.
I can lose weight? That's quite nice,isn't it?


まあ、いたって平均体型なんですけどね＾＾
個人的にはちょび痩せ体系が理想です☆

I have just standard proportion.
Idealy, I wanna be a bit more slim...☆

花火の写真は難しいですね＾＾；　It's difficult to take a photo of fireworks...


昨夜、花火を見に友人のマンションにお邪魔しました＊＊

Last night, we visited our friends' condominium
to enjoy fireworks display from there.


近くに住んでいて、自転車で５分くらいで着きます。
旭川のすぐそばに立っているマンションで
ベランダからの景色がとってもいいおうちなのです＊

They live quite close to us, just 5 minutes by bicycle.
Their condominium stands just by the Asahi River,
so we can have a nice view from the balcony.


すごくたくさん料理も用意してくれて・・・
焼き鳥、炒め物、焼きそば、サラダ・・・
他のゲストの一家が自家製の燻製ハムなども持ってこられてて
なんだか豪華でした。すごい！ありがとう！！！

They prepared so many dishes; skwered grilled chicken(Yakitori),
sautes, fried noodles, salad ....
And one of the guest family brought home-made smoked ham
and some other dishes. Wow! so great!




前にブログでも書いた、「吉備土手麦酒」の
ビールサーバーも準備されていて、生ビールも満喫しました＾＾

They also borrowed beer server from "Kibidote　Beer",
which I wrote on the blog before, and we could enjoy
the draft beer too!


すばらしいもてなしに大感謝です＊＊
花火を見ながらおいしい料理、生ビールを楽しめる
素敵な一時をありがとうございました！！！

花火よりも料理にビール！！って人も。
まあ、いつものことで＾＾

We appreciate their hospitality so much!
Thanks a lot for giving us such precious time
enjoying fireworks with yummy foods and draft beer!

Actually, some enjoyed foods and beer much more
than fireworks...hahaha, as usual :)
