今日の夕方まで忙しく、ブログ更新できていませんでした（＞＜）

I'd been busy untill this evening, so I couldn't
update my blog.
For the people who came here in these two days,
I'd like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

今日はお母様方むけのセミナーがあり、私はそのセミナーの間
子どもたちのお守をしておりました☆

We had a seminar for mothers today and I was in charge of
looking after children while mothers were attending the
seminar.

1才から５才までの子どもたちがいたのですが
たとえ２才の子どもでも、１才の子にすごくやさしくて
よく面倒を見てくれて、なんだか微笑ましかったです＾＾

There were children aged from 1 to 5.
I was so happy to find out that even 2-year-old
children can take care of 1- year-old children!
They were so kind to younger children.

最近は一人っ子が多いですが
異年齢の子ども同士の関わりって、すごく大事だよなあ
と思います。

There are many only children these days.
I seriously think that the communication
between chidren of diffrent ages is important.


核家族もすごく多いですしね。
いろんな年令の人が一緒に暮らすことで
昔は家で学べてきたたくさんのこと、どこかで学んでいく
機会がいるよなぁ、なんて思います＊＊

The number of nuclear familes is quite large, too.
We learned a lot of things by living together with
people of different age groups.
We need to find alternative places to learn what we learned
at home, I think.

海遊館で、たまたま餌付けの時に
太平洋の水槽の前にいました＊＊

マンタやジンベエが食べてるのを見るのは
初めてでした。
大きくって、おお〜〜っという感じでした＾＾

In Kaiyukan, we happened to be in front of the Pacific Ocean Tank
when fish are being fed!
It was my first time to see Manta and Whale shark eating.
As they were so big, it was great to see them eating!

特に、マンタの口がかわいかった！！
平たい口が、食べる時には開いて長方形になってました＾＾

Especially, I liked the mouth of Manta.
Its mouth was so flat and when it started eating,
it became rectangle!


ジンベエザメは、食べる時水中で立ってるような感じでした。
（画像は奥の方でわかりにくいかもです＾＾；）
多分餌が浮いてるからそうなってしまうのかな？

Whale sharks were standing in the water while eating.
Maybe it's because their foods were floating...

山も好きですが、海も大好きです＊＊
地上の世界とは全く違う海の中の世界。
見ているだけでも癒されます。

I love the mountains, but I also love
the sea so much.
Underwater world is quite different from
the world on the ground.
Just a look is enough to heal my mind.


ほんとに美しくて、素晴らしい。
「ディープブルー」の映画も何度か観ました。
なんて魅力的な世界なんでしょう。

It's so beautiful and amazing.
I saw the movie "DEEP BLUE" several times.
What a fascinating world the sea is!

クラゲも、美しいですよね＊＊
時に、毒を持っていたり、問題起こしたり
するから人に嫌われたりしちゃうけれど
あの優雅な泳ぎにはほんと惹きつけられます。

Jellyfish is also beautiful.
Sometimes they are hated by humans
as they have poison or they cause some problems,
but their gracious, flowing movement draws
my attention a lot.

あのちょっと後に同じホームにいて、電車から

この週末はリラと一緒に兵庫に戻ってました。
ジンベエザメや、マンタやペンギンの赤ちゃんや
土曜日は他のたくさんの仲間たちに会いに
大阪にある海遊館に行ってきました。

I went back to Hyogo this weekend with Rila.
On Saturday, we went to an aquarium called Kaiyukan in Osaka
to meet Whale Shark, Manta Ray, baby penguins and other friends.


その後、リラのリクエストで新世界で串カツを食しました＾＾
「２度づけお断り」の店で食べたい！！とのこと。
新世界は串カツやさんだらけでした。
さすが本場ですね〜＊＊おいしかったです＾＾

Afterwards, we went to "Shinsekai (The New World)"
to have "Kushikatsu (pork cutlet on a skewer)".
It was the request from Rila to eat Kushikatsu at places
with "Never dip again" rule.
There were so many Kushikatsu restaurants.
It surely was the home of Kushikatsu.
They were so yummy!

梅雨ですね。
今年は、本当に梅雨という感じがします。
この湿気の多さ、天気予報の雨マークの数・・・。
この雨が更なる災害につながりませんように・・・。

This year, it surely is the rainy season

今日と明日は仕事休みです♪
せっかくなので週末キャンプに行こうかとも
思っていたけれど、どうやら天気がよくないみたいで（T　T)

う〜ん、久しぶりに兵庫や大阪に戻って
家族に会おうかな。もし、家にいるようなら。

I'm off today and also tomorrow, so I thought of
going camping this weekends.
But, weather won't permit...(T T)

I'm now thinking of going back to Hyogo, Osaka
to see my families there...if they are at home.

黒豆入り玄米ごはん　＊　brown rice with black beans


健康のために、１年ほど前から玄米を食べるようにしています。
玄米は、たくさん栄養が入ってるから＾＾

でもいつもってわけじゃなくて。
そればかりだと飽きてしまったりもするので
雑穀をまぜた白米と玄米を替わりばんこに、
カレーとかの時は白米を炊くことが多いかな☆

For our health, I started to eat brown rice about a year ago.
Brown rice is far more nutritious.

But, not always.
We might get bored with the taste,
we eat white rice mixed with minor cereals in turns.
When I cook curry, I tend to use just white rice.

だいたいいつも、５合くらいまとめて炊いちゃいます☆
雑穀米や白米を炊く時は、そのうちの１合、もち米を
よく入れてます。
すると、ごはんがもちもちっとして、おいしい(*^^*)


I often cook five cups of rice (using Japanese measuring cup)
at a time.
When I cool white rice or white rice with minor cereals,
I often add a cup of glutinous(sticky) rice.
Then, it'll be sticky and yummy!


炊く時は圧力鍋を使って☆
玄米だと沸騰してから１０〜１２分弱火で
それ以外だと沸騰してから２分弱火にかけます。

あと、「キパワーソルト」という塩を入れてます。
この間ラジオで、長谷川理恵さんもこの塩を使ってると
言ってました＊＊
これも体によいらしいです＾＾

I use my pressure pan to cook rice.
For brown rice, I have to cook over a low heat for
about 10-12 minutes after boiling.
For white rice, only 2 minutes after boiling.

I add special salt called "Ki Power salt" before heating.
The other day, I was listening to the radio,
and I heard that Rie Hasegawa is also a fan of this salt^^
This salt is good for our health too.

モンスター・・・
モンスターペアレント、モンスターチルドレン
最近よく聞く言葉です。

monster...
monster parents, monster children
such words are often heard these days.


「モンスターペアレント」は和製英語で
学校に対して自己中心的で不条理な要求を繰り返す保護者のことです。
(wikipediaより）

The word "monster parent" is a Japanese English means;
parents who are selfish and require unreasonable
orders to the school repeatedly.
　
「モンスターチルドレン」はまだwikipediaには載ってなかった
けれど、よく使われるようにもなってきたので
近いうちに出てくるのではないでしょうか。
おそらく
「自己中心的で、自分の意見を強く主張し社会や学校のルール
に従わない子どもたち」
みたいな感じで・・・。

う〜〜〜〜〜ん。
大問題ですよね。
そんな風になってほしく、ない！！


I couldn't find "monster children" in Wikipedia yet,
but, soon it'll appear on it because the word is
widely used these days.
maybe, it'll be defined like
"Children who are selfish and insist on their opinion
without following the rules of the society or school"

Ummmm,it's a big problem...
I don't want children to be like that!!

日曜の夜、父から電話があった。
プレゼントありがとうという電話だった。
携帯の画面に父の名が出てきたときは
なんだか変な感じがした。
多分、父の携帯から私の携帯にかかってきたのは
初めてだったんじゃないかな。

On Sunday night, I got a call from my dad.
He thanked me for the gift I sent to him.
When I saw the name which appeared on my mobile screen,
I felt very strange.
Maybe, it was the first call from my dad's mobile to my mobile.

昔、父と私の関係はあまりよくなかった。
友達の間でも、私があまり父を好いてないことは
知られていた。

When I was young, the relationship between dad and me
was not good.
Even my friends knew that I didn't like my father.

留学することを決めた時、父が私のことをちゃんと
見てくれていることを知った。
父は、昔の典型的な日本人の父という感じで
頑固で、厳しくて、口数も少なかった。
でも、私が家を出てからすごく優しくなった。

It was when I decided to study abroad that
I noticed my father caring me.
He was kind of an old-type Japanese father;
stubborn, strict, having not many words to say.
But, since I left home, he's become very kind father.

父の日にプレゼントなんて、昔は考えたこともなかったけれど
結婚してから気が変わった。
離れて住んでいるし、めったに会わないから
こういった特別な機会には感謝の気持ちを送ろうと思った。
父からの電話で、なんだかほっとした。

I never thought of giving him a present on father's day before,
but since I got married, I've changed my mind.
As we live apart and seldom meet each other,
I'd like to thank him on these special occasions.
His call made me feel at ease.

睡眠。
私たちの健康にはほんと大切！！

時々、体調を崩して、歩くのもフラフラになります＾＾；。
私の場合はたいがい寝不足が原因で、ちゃんと
寝たらまた元気になれます。

Sleeping.
It's very important for our health.

Sometimes I feel sick and I can hardly walk.
In my case, it happens when I'm lacking sleep.
After having a good sleep, I can be fine again.


睡眠は脳にとってもすごく大切で。
試験前になると徹夜して勉強する人もいるけれど
（私もたまにしてましたが＾＾；）
試験でいい点取れたとしても、そうやって覚えたものって
すぐ忘れちゃったりするんですよね。

Sleeping is also very important for our brains.
There are people who study all through the night
before the test or some exams.
(actualy, I sometimes did ^^;)
We might get a good score on the test, but
the information we get through this kind of study is
easily forgotten.


私たちがその日に得た情報は寝ている間に
脳に蓄積されるので、ちゃんと覚えようと思ったら
寝ないといけないんですね。
勉強に大切なのは、集中すること！そして小休憩に睡眠。
と思ってます＊＊

As the information we get is stored
in our brain while we are sleeping, we need to sleep
to memorize things.
The best way to study is to concentrate first of all,
and have a short rest and a good night sleep, I think.


入学試験で勉強してた時は夜１２時くらいに寝て、朝すごく
早く起きてしてたな〜〜。
朝決まって早起きした自分へのごほうびにチョコを食べてました＾＾；
朝の静寂の時間、好きだったな〜＊＊

When I was studying for the entrance exam, I went to
sleep around 12 and got up very early in the morning.
I made it a habit to eat chocolates as a little treat^^.
I liked the silence in the morning.

Rila hasn't come back yet, but I've already cooked
"Friday" curry and rice.
Clearly, we eat curry quite often on Fridays.

I added a bit of soy milk today.
I think the taste has got milder.

今日はリラの誕生日です！
リラ、誕生日おめでとう〜＊＊

仕事帰りにいちごのショートケーキと
ゆず味のケーキを買って帰りました。

It is Rila's (my husband) birthday today!
Happy birthday Rila!

I bought a strawberry shortcake and Yuzu flavored cake
on my way home.

プレゼントは長袖シャツにしました。
なぜかというと・・・
彼の持っている服はほとんど、特にTシャツは
お笑い系ばかりだから・・・☆

I gave him a long-sleeved shirt as a birthday present.
The reason why I choose shirt is
most of his clothes, especially his T-shirts, are
the ones that make other people laugh.

彼は普通っぽい服はめったに買いません。
私の親に会う服がなくて困ったりした時も。

He rarely buy clothes which people think as normal.
Sometimes, he was at a loss what to wear even when
he meets my parents.

オーストラリアに行ったときに、出入国審査官が
彼を見てくすくす笑ったのを鮮明に覚えています。
その時は、「ビールがなければ生きていけない」
とでっかく書かれたTシャツを着ていました。
まあ、ムーミンのような体系がおもしろさを
助長するのだろうと思うのですが・・・＾＾；

When we went to Australia, I remember clearly that
the immigration officer giggled at him
because his T-shirt said, "NO BEER NO LIFE".
Maybe, his Moomin like body makes his T-shirt more
interesting.

幸せと喜びでいっぱいの素晴らしい年になりますように＊＊

先日、またカヌーに行って来ました。
カヌーを持っている友人が何人かいるので
（私たちのような膨らますタイプではありません！）
一緒にカヌーしてきました。

We went canoeing again.
Some of our friends have canoes too (not
inflatable like ours!), so we got together
and enjoyed canoeing.

中には３艇も持っている人がいるのです！
ツーリングカヌーと・・・あとは名前を知りません（＊＊）
彼は水の中で回っていました。
水の中でです！
だから会った時にはもうずぶぬれだったわけです。

One of them has as many as 3!
One touring canoe, and the other two...
I don't know the names.
He was turning around in the water!
In the water!
That's why he was all wet when we arrived there.

ところで、カヌーとカヤックの違いって・・・？
知ってらっしゃいますか？

ずっと気になっていたのですが
今回はもう調べ時だと思ってネットで調べてみました。

I had been wondering about that for a long time.
This time, I thought the time has come to make it clear,
so I searched on the web.


カヤックは座って、両側に水かきのあるパドルで漕ぐ。

A kayak is paddled sitting down using
a double bladed paddle.

カヌーは膝をついて、もしくは座って
片側にだけ水かきのあるパドルで漕ぐ。

A canoe is paddled kneeling or sitting
using a single bladed paddle.

カヤックは狭く、カヌーは広い。
Kayaks are narrow and canoes are broader.

むむむ。
と、いうことは、私たちが買ったものは
インフレータブルカヤックなわけですね。
カヌーの方が良く知られているので
カヤックと言わずにカヌーと言ったりしてるみたいです☆

Ummmm, that means, the one we bought it called
inflatable kayak!
As canoe well known, the word canoe is used
instead of kayak.

今、運転する時はなるべく環境にやさしくできるようにしています。

When I drive a car, I'm now trying to drive
in environmentally friendly way.


この間、めざましテレビを見ていたら、エコドライブを
特集していて、どうしたらガソリンを節約できるか
紹介していました。

I was watching Mezamashi TV the other day, and it
adviced us how to reduce the amount of gasoline we use.


その中で、いい！と思ったのは

＊アクセルをゆっくり踏むこと。
＊止まるなとわかったらすぐアクセルから足を離すこと。

ガソリンを一番使うのは発進時。
ゆっくり、スムーズに発進すれば
使うガソリンの量は少なくてすむとのこと。
時速20kmになるまでに、５，６秒かけるといいみたいです。

In the program, I thought these two points are worth trying;

*Use the accelerator gently.
*Stop stepping on the accelerator
when we notice stop signs.

As cars need more gasoline when they start off,
If we start off gently and smoothly, we can reduce the
amount of gasoline we use.
It's efficient to count 5 to 6 seconds to reach 20km/h.


今、一週間この方法で走っていますが
たしかに、走れる距離が増えました！！！
同じガソリン量で60km以上は今までより長く走れています。
乱暴だった私の運転もましになってきたかも☆
これからもエコドライブ、していこうっと＾＾
お財布にも環境にもやさしくって◎ですね＊＊


I've been driving in this way for a week.
To my surprise, I can drive longer distance
with the same amount of gasoline! Wow!
I can drive about 60km more than before!
And... I was far from a good driver, but now
I'm driving in a good way, I think.

Yeah, I!ll keep on driving in this environmentally friendly way.
It's good for our wallets and also to the environment^^

今朝になって、秋葉原で昨日起こった殺傷事件のことを
知りました。

なんで？
どうしてそんなに人を殺すの？
何が彼をそうさせてしまったの？

This morning, I heard the news of Akihabara stabbing spree　
which happend yesterday.
How come?
Why can he kill so many people ?
What made him to do so?

この通りは日曜日は歩行者天国になっていて
休日を楽しむ人でいっぱいだった。

The street was vehicle-free for pedestrians on Sundays.
There were so many people enjoying their holidays.

彼の言葉
「世の中がいやになった」

そんな風に思ってる人、
他にもけっこういるのではないかと思う。

でも、そんなの人を殺す理由になんてならない。
人の命を奪うなんてこと、あってはならないのに・・・。

He said,
"I am tired of the world."

I think, there are not a few people who think
in the same way.

But, it can't be the reason for killing.
Nobody has the right to take the lives of others...


この殺傷事件の犠牲者の方々のご冥福をお祈りします・・・。

I pray for the souls of those who involved in the stabbing spree...

日本男子バレーボール、おめでとう〜！！！
今日アルゼンチンに勝って、北京オリンピックへの
出場権を獲得しました！！
１６年ぶりのオリンピック。ほんとによかった＾＾

Congratulations for the men's volleyball team!!!
They won over Argentina, and got the berth for Beijing Olimpic today!!!
It's been 16 years since Japanese men's team played
in the Olympic.


テレビのチャンネルを変えたらちょうど４セット目の途中で、
そのセット取れるかなと思ったけれどそのセットは落としてしまって。

When I changed the channels, it was in the middle of the
forth set. I thought they could win that set, but they
lost it.


最終セットにもつれこんだ試合。
ものすごい接戦で、結果は20−18で日本の勝利。
お互いに何度も何度もマッチポイントを重ねた。

We had to wait until the final set to see whether
they win or not.
The final set was so close.
The score was 20-18, that means both team got their
match point several times.


一人で見ていたのですが
あまりにも興奮してしまって、叫んでました
（後半からしかみてないのに＾＾；）
最後、勝ったときは泣いてしまった。またも。
実は、中学校ではバレー部に入ってました☆

Though I was watching TV alone at home,
I got so excited and couldn't help shouting.
The moment they took the final winning point,
I cried. Again...haha.
Actually I was in the volleyball team
when I was in Junior high.

今日の勝利で、日本男子チームはアジアのNo.1として
北京オリンピックの出場権を獲得しました。
本当に、おめでとう！！！
みんな、すごくかっこよかった！！！
そして、北京でも、がんばってください！！！

With today's result, Japan has clinched Olympic berth
as the best Asian team.

Congratulations again!!!
You are all so cool!!!

I hope they try their best in the Beijing Olympic!!!

今日はリラが有給休暇を取っていました。
私も有給休暇はあるのですが、意味なしです（T　T)
取ったとしても、自分で他の休みの日にレッスンを
しないといけないので・・・☆

Today, Rila took a paid holiday.
I have paid holidays as well, but it means nothing.
Because if I take them, I have to give lessons
using other holidays.

今日は焼きそばを作ってくれていました＾＾
彼がお休みの日に一番してほしいことは
ごはんを作ること。
ありがとう、リラ！！！

Rila made fried noodle for dinner.
One very thing I expect him on his paid holiday is
to prepare the meals!

He went to the supermarket, and he
bought eggs on sale, too.

今日テレビで中田英寿の旅のドキュメンタリー番組
「僕が見た、この地球。」を見た。
彼は２９歳でプロのサッカー界から引退し、約２年旅をしていた。

I watched the documentary today called,
"The earth, which I saw." about Hidetoshi Nakata.
He traveled around the world for about 2 years
after retiring from professional soccer.

私はサッカーファンでもなければ、彼に詳しいわけでもない。
でもこのドキュメンタリーにはかなり惹きつけられた。

Actually, I'm not a soccer fan. I don't know much about him.
But this documentary looked very interesting to me.

ただの旅番組とかではなくて、いろんな意味が込められていた。
彼が旅した場所。感じたこと。

It was not just a simple program focusing on his journey,
it contained lots of meanings.
The places he visited...the feelings he got...

あ〜また旅に出て、いろんなことを感じてみたい。

Geeee, I wanna go on a journey and experience the world!


Here is his word which moved me;

今日は旭川でリラとカヌーしてきました＊＊
Today I did canoeing along Asahi river with Rila.

インフレータブルのカヌーを使うのは初めてでしたが
流れがとても穏やかだったのでのんびりと
カヌーを楽しむことができました (＾ ＾)

It was our first time to try out our inflatable canoe.
The stream was really gentle and we could enjoy
paddling the canoe a lot.


景色も綺麗で、サギが飛ぶところも見れたし、
ちょっと濡れはしましたがとてもいい時間を過ごせました＊＊

We could see beautiful secenary and we also saw a heron ｆｌｙing off.
Though I got wet a bit, we had a very nice time^^










Next time we wanna try other points**
次回はまた別の場所で漕いでみたいな＊＊

WE ARE WHAT WE EAT
（私たちは食べものできている）

“トランス脂肪”とか、“トランス脂肪酸”という言葉
聞かれたことはありますか？
このトランス脂肪はマーガリン、ショートニング、
フライドポテト、インスタント食品、クッキー、
ポテトチップスなど・・・
いろんな加工食品に使われています。

Have you ever heard of 'trans fat' or, 'trans fatty acids'?
This fat is used in many kinds of processed foods like
margerine, shortnings, french fries, instant foods,
cookies, crisps....etc.


このトランス脂肪、体にとても悪いらしいのです。
心臓病、糖尿病、ガン、他たくさんの病気の原因
にもつながるようです。
実際、諸外国ではトランス脂肪使用の規制が始まっています。

This fat is very bad for our health.
It can cause serious diseases like heart disease,
diabete, cancer, and many other diseases.
In fact, some countries are already banning or regulating
the use of trans fat.

でも日本では、ほぼ何もなされていないのが現状のよう。
もっとこの事実、知っておかなければ・・・。

However, there are almost no regulations of
trans fat in Japan.
I think we should be aware of the facts...

これらの本を読んだ後で私はマーガリンや
特保でメタボにいいと言われていた油を使うのをぴたっと
やめてしまいました。
本読んでいて、怖くなってしまったので。

After reading these books,
I stopped using margerines and oil which is said to be good for
metabolic syndrome. (←my husband is metabo )
Even the products with 'Tokuho' can be dangerous.
These books scared me a lot!


もし機会があれば、読んでみてください＊衝撃を受けるかもです。
あと、トランス脂肪酸については↓に詳しく書かれていました。
まあでも、気にしすぎもよくないので、ある程度気にしつつ
おいしく食べるのが一番健康にいいのかな。

If yo have chance to read them, I recommend you to read!
They may give you a shock.
And, I found a site which tells us about trans fat↓
so, if you have time, pay a visit!

Too much concern is also not good,
so it may be better to pay attention to some extent
and enjoy the meals.
